Bellator rivals Josh Koscheck and Paul Daley have yet to go against each other again. So for now, both Bellator MMA fighters will deal with other contenders in the upcoming Bellator 148 this January.
Bellator officials have now released the contenders for Koscheck and Daley. Koscheck, who has a current record of 17-10 MMA and 0-0 BMMA, will go against another welterweight fighter Matt Secor (7-2 MMA, 1-1 BMMA) as the main card event of the night. Daley, on the other hand, will face his fellow 170-pound contender Andy Uhrich as the co-headliner. Daley has a current record of 37-1302 MMa and 3-0 BMMA, while Urich has a record of 11-5 MMA and 1-2 BMMA. This matchup was first released at MMAMad.com.
Bellator 148 will be held at Save Mart Center in Fresno, California on January 29th. This event will be aired on Spike after the prelims on MMAjunkie.
Longtime UFC fighter, Josh Koscheck, is finally making his Bellator debut. Koscheck, who has been with the UFC in the past, has an amazing MMA veteran in his career. He has been on “The Ultimate Fighter” during the first season and he has been a UFC welterweight title contender. During his entire stay in the UFC, Koscheck managed to get a record of 15-10. Unfortunately, Koscheck faced several straight losses, including back-to-back submission losses and four continuous stoppage setbacks. Towards the end of his career in the UFC, he had to face top fighters Erick Silva and Jake Ellenberger, which came just less than a month apart.
Daley, on the other hand, has already met Koscheck inside the octagon back in 2010 and unfortunately lost. They met during the UFC 113 event but was later cut from the roster because he threw a punch right after the fight. Of course, Daley has been eyeing a rematch against Koscheck ever since he lost. Since there’s no schedule of the rematch yet, Daley kept himself busy and managed to win his fights. In fact. Daley has been on a winning streak with having eight out of nine victories. Just recently, he won over Dennis Olson by knocked out during the Bellator 140 event.
This time around, Daley will be facing Uhrich, who managed to win three straight fights since his return to California. Just like Daley, former Strikeforce MMA fighter Uhrich faced back-to-back losses to Nathan Coy and Ben Brewer in Bellator.
