Known to be very straightforward and expert at talking brash, Conor McGregor releases a statement with a tone that is quite surprising.
After McGregor finally achieved his ultimate goal, which is to have the MMA belt that he believes is rightfully his, he posted a message thanking everyone who helped him achieve his goal, and even went on acknowledging Jose Aldo on what he achieved in the MMA industry.
Aldo, who now holds a record of 25-2 MMA and 7-1 MMA, went against McGregor last Saturday as the main card fight for the night. Aside from being one of the most awaited fights in the MMA industry, this fight also serves as a title-unification bout. The fight didn’t last long though. Conor McGregor was able to knock out Aldo in just 13 seconds into the first round of the fight. A lot of people were caught by surprise with the sudden turn of events. After his impressive 13-second K.O. victory against then-undefeated champion, Jose Aldo, last UFC 194, McGregor, who now has a record of 19-2 MMA and 7-0 UFC, finally posts a message to all his supporters.
McGregor, who was able to successfully emerge victorious in the year’s biggest PPV MMA event in a very impressive finish, congratulated all those involved in the UFC event held in Las Vegas, Nevada. He also thanked his Irish fans for their unwavering support. And even though he and Aldo had been rivals for a long time, McGregor was classy enough to acknowledge Aldo as well.
“Respect to a great champion in Jose Aldo. The true greats will always overcome adversity. I wish him and his loyal team well on their journey back. Much respect,” Aldo said.
